Iberia Eclipse Festival

Vinuesa, Soria (path of totality – ~1m 42s)

A 5-day global eclipse gathering organized by 7 international crews. Four main stages with psytrance, house, techno, ambient, and live bands. Immersive art installations, workshops, talks, and wellness spaces. All music pauses for the 1 minute and 42 seconds of totality. Located in the heart of the path of totality in Soria province.

Sizigia Eclipse Gathering

Embalse de Sotonera, Alcalá de Gurrea, Huesca, Aragón (path of totality)

A one-time-only psychedelic and underground music festival created specifically for this eclipse, organized by the team behind Own Spirit Festival. Features world-renowned international artists across multiple stages and collective eclipse viewing from an elevated site with a clear western horizon. Also coincides with the Perseid meteor shower peak that night.

A 3-day electronic music festival (techno, house, acid) with the venue and stage specifically positioned for optimal eclipse viewing. The mountain resort setting at over 1,500m altitude provides clear sight lines. Within the path of totality near the southern edge.

Festival Eclipse 2026 – Parc Astronòmic Prades

Prades, Tarragona, Catalonia (path of totality)

A 4-day science-focused festival organized by an established astronomical park, highlighted by National Geographic as one of the best observation points. Music, workshops, solar observations, family planetarium sessions, astrobiology workshops, and water rocket workshops for children. Activities for all ages in Catalan, Spanish, and English.

Manjirón, Sierra Norte de Madrid (path of totality – ~80s)

Held at a 19th-century palace complex less than 45 minutes from Madrid city centre, within the path of totality. Features a dedicated astronomer, solar telescopes, large screen with live broadcast, ambient music, and leisure activities. The site offers approximately 80 seconds of total darkness. Guided Observations

AstroAfición – Guided Eclipse Observation

Private estate in Burgos province (bus transport from Madrid Chamartín available)

Asociación Leonesa de Astronomía – Public Observations

León (centerline – ~1m 45s of totality)

León's astronomical association (celebrating its 40th anniversary) is organizing public solar observations in the city, which sits right on the centerline for maximum totality duration. They are coordinating with the city government for public viewing events. León has not seen a total eclipse in over a century.

Eclipse 2026 – Federation of Astronomical Associations of Spain

Observation nodes across Spain's totality band

An IAU-supported project building a network of official observation nodes across the path of totality, covering Aragón, Asturias, the Balearic Islands, Cantabria, Castilla y León, Catalonia, Valencia, Navarra, Galicia, La Rioja, and the Basque Country. Each node is selected for good access, accommodation logistics, and favourable weather conditions.

Planning Your Eclipse Event Visit

  • Book accommodation early: Events will attract large crowds, and August is already peak tourist season in Spain.
  • Bring eye protection: Even at organized events, bring your own ISO 12312-2 certified eclipse glasses as a backup.
  • Arrive early: Popular viewing spots will fill up quickly. Plan to arrive at least 2–3 hours before the eclipse.
  • Check event updates: Follow event organizers for the latest information, as details may change.
  • Verify you're in the path: Make sure your chosen event is within the path of totality if you want to see a total eclipse.
